    RC TANK WOES :(

Well, went down to my boat club today and took Herta the Tiger down. She was going great until a severe grinding noise occurred.

Back home and stripped, rear idle wheel broken and threw the track, this in turn caused the drive sprocket to twist damaging that and also damaged some suspension arms.

Cheesed off big style as it is a complete strip down and replacement of parts  >

True, could have been worse. Cost wise looking at around £100 for new uprated parts

Nope, as Jim points out she is shelved for the maybe a long time.

One of them things Jim, she just dug in on a turn and the stresses just caused the bearing in the idler to go, this then went all floppy slipping the track that in turn was still being driven by the drive sprocket, it slowly caused the sprocket to twist and this but strain on the road wheels and the suspension arms. I'll fix it, when I can afford it.

Good news! Just saved myself 100 sheets, stripped her down and checked the suspension arms and springs, not bad at all, got the idler wheel apart and replaced the bearing, all was left was to re-tighten the bolts, checked the track and all is okay, one pin link had come out, replaced with a new one and all is well!

Yep, was well chuffed Ian, had her-topless  :/ -running around the garden and she handled fine, turned okay and no slipped track. Working on the other side to make sure that all is well on that side.

Cheers Graham, will finish up sorting the other side and get the top hull and turret attached and then have another spin to make sure that all is running okay. Looks like it sounded worse than it was...phew.
