    1/1 SCALE MP40.

I got a 1/1 scale BB MP40, it is 90% accurate and when it came it was the usual two-tone, this one green and black. I wanted it as a shed hanger so set too and re-painted it. I even attempted re-create the Bakelite grips and bodywork colour. Now, before anyone has a pop about guns etc, this is just for my shed, it will never venture outside. If I do, it will have the end taken back to orange. I just wanted to see if I could get it to look better and realistic rather than toy-like.

Cheers Robert, I know guns are bad etc, but I paid £20 for this and thought it would look good hung in the shed with my German 1/16 tanks. I pondered over painting it and thought bugger it, I'll give it a go.

The time scale on this was two days, grey primed, matt black-both rattle cans. Revell Aquacolour: brown, dark red. Lamp black oil paint-buffed with rag. Revell Aquacolour steel for weathering.

No. You see what you've done Si isn't quite right. You're supposed to show pictures of your model after you've painted it, not the real one you're using for comparison.

Can we see pictures of your model now please?

Thanks Dave, saw a couple of MP40's with this type of colour and in black, wasn't sure how it would turn out-not too bad in the end

Thanking you Moni, the woodwork is actually Bakelite-a plastic that came in black or a mottled reddish/brown/black-I tried to recreate this colour. Glad you like it though.

LOL, very kind words indeed Dave, it looks okay but not that good. Chuffed you like it though.

Ta Joe, was fun to do and fairly easy-the Bakelite was a beggar to do as to get the colour right-I originally tried to get some swirls in but lost patience
