We are talking about the Mirror Models kit here aren't we. I have built a few of them and they have been exceptionally good. Dare I say  better than Tamiya ?

If I where you I would have sent it back and asked for another. It does happen sometimes that the quality controls fail (or go for a pee). It only takes a tiny bit of dirt in the machinery and the moulds cant close completely. That does not explain the badly place attachment points though! If I ever find one, I will have a good look in the box before handing over the folding stuff.

    Thanks for the reply.

I am only into 10 to date and i am at it most of the day every day, but all of mine are dios, some resins and one scratch build have also spent the last two weeks drawing plans for a new railgun and at about 24 inches long in 1 72 it is going to be big and take a long time.

yup! and some of the detailing is cracking, but im convinced that the chassis parts (and theres thousands of them) are from older moulds than the body parts. I may, as I say, go back to it when Ive got a bit more experience under my belt, but as things stand, I'm happy to let it sit in the corner!

I have completed 31 models since the start of the year... need to half that this year to achieve better quality, and a more satisfying build.  I need to be more patient, more importantly I need to learn how to be patient.

I am aiming to slow down and do 15-20 in around the same time. How I achieve to do that is still a mystery to me
15 to 20 could be a target for me as well, but from a completely different point of view !!

                    All 1/72:

                    P-51D

                    Junkers 88 A-4

                    Focke-wulf 190 A-7

Blenheim Mk1 on the bench at the moment.

So it's been a productive year by my standards so far! However I'm just about to retire. I wonder what I'll do with all that extra time?...

As for your slow year Joe. It's still far more successful than mine.

I thought it had been a very slow year so far for myself but when ive looked at it and counted them i surprised myself a bit. I have completed 7 so far this year -

                            1/144 chengdu j20

                            1/72 F86 sabre "the Huff"

                            1/48 B58 Hustler

                            1/48 F100 Super Sabre

                            1/48 Chengdu j10 Vigorous Dragon

                            1/72 Yak 25 rv Mandrake

                            1/144 Sopwith Pup

and in progress at the moment -Eduard 1/48 MiG 21 and Monogram 1/48 F101 Voodoo.

Whats surprising is that 5 of the 7 were group build entries (even though the hustler was last years that ran over by 10 months!!!!!)                         I suppose an average of roughly one a month isnt too bad , at this rate if I dont buy anymore I'll have cleared the stash in about 6 years
