    Has anyone built a 251 Half Track?

    Hey

    Has anyone built a 251 Half Track? as I need ideas for the floor plate.

    Plus be nice to her what 251 kits you built and how you found/enjoyed them.

    I built the Tamiya Ausf C a year ago, it was a good kit, but the instructions left a fair amount to be desired on interior colors.

      As it happens I'm in the process of painting the Zvezda 251/10. The kit went together lovely but again, there's not a lot of info on the interior finish

        Ive built several, these include the old Tamiya version and old blue tank(less said) and i have aseveral version from Dragon and i have the Revell command version( i think this is the same as the Dragon version).

        What i like about the Sdkfz 251 are the amount of different variants there are, if you are stuck for which one to do i would suggest trying one of the Dragon 3 in 1 versions either the sdkfz 251 ausf C or the ausf D, you can pick these up on e-bay at reasonable prices;

        Hope this helps.

          I'm build the C and the Waffa 40mm. My question was how did you paint your floor in the halftrack?

          I've biult a tamiya D and C but the dragon ones and great spent £60 on PE and resin. The dragon crew and rubbish tho, because the driver and radio man cannot fit the cab. PLus radio man has two side box things in hes legs away.

              Hi Slupanter

              Ive found this to be a problem also, i have never fitted a driver to any of the kits ive built, because i have found it hard to fit them, so i leave them out, there any several resin manufactors that do have figures that will look great, but i have found these to expensive!

              In regards to the floor plate, i presume you are on about the colour? i paint it in the colour of the body, only because it was an open topped vehicle so i thought it would be in the same colour as the exterior, i have done this with all my kits and i weather them and add some paint chipping, this is obviously for wear and tear of the troops in the back.

              I have added a pic taken from a site that shows the floor plate in a sdkfz 250 at Beltring, hope this helps.

                  Thats great. nice pic. Because my next question was anyone got any radio pics. I need to build the speaker that hangs on the inside side pole so radio man can talk at seated troops.

                  So you have found the same prob with crew, Its really supid has they don't fit. I have a look at the resin ones.

                  Resin crew can be bent in to the shape you need with a hair dryer. (dont know if poeple know that)

                  Thanks dude
