Gun Fire! Plus artillery fire and landing

    Hey

Odd question. Does any body else find the sound for distant gun fire and artillery fire and landing sleep inducing?

I do. As a child I just to love building sound tracks for my Dios i.e. Listen to this(EXTER COMPANY - Ihr Partner in Sachen Modellbau und insbesondere fr Resin Figures 1/35, S&T Products und Tank Models) And now I find it really soothing

    Anyone? yes? no?

    :-)

Not me,I was dragged out of my bed and bundled onto an aeroplane (eventually ending up with my brother and mother abandoned in Rome) at the outbreak of the Biafran war. This was all accompanied by the sound of real gunfire so I can hons

estly say it is not a comforting sound to me. Luckily I was too young to appreciate just how bad the situation was. I actually have happy memories of learning that England had won the world cup from a very pro English Italian gentleman who bought me and my brother an ice cream each!

      Cheers

This is true due to the fact i've never been under fire. Wow what a story. If I may what happened next? How did you get home?

Id just like to see I would never belittle make fun of any situation were live fire is involved. All who have see or been involved should be treated with all the resect they deserve.

My mother, brother and myself were stuck on the first flight out of Nigeria which got us as far as Rome. I was too young to understand exactly what was happening, but I knew it wasn't good! My father was to follow later,it was a case of women and children first. This was long before the days of credit cards and as my mother explained it she had very little cash,we were rushed to the airport more or less with what we stood up in. The British Embassy would only loan her money if she surrendered her passport. When she declined she was told by an official to "throw herself on the mercy of the Catholic Church". I can safely say she was not impressed with our government's response to an emergency. Eventually money was wired from my father's employer's parent company in Manchester and she was able to buy flights back to the U.K. It was quite an adventure for an eight year old and I do remember being quite happy to end up in my grand parents' house in Oxford. Not half as relieved as my mum! My dad turned up a few days later.

Thankfully noone has ever fired anything at me but I do remember the noise of the gunfire that day and night when we were evacuated. There were some unpleasant scenes as people belonging to the wrong ethnic group found themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time.

          Cheers

I'm not trying to be funny hear, but the sound in the clip isn't a million miles apart from what 'experts' believe a baby can hear of more likely 'feel' whilst still inside. So, there could be a subconscious reason why you find the track relaxing. Honestly, I'm not taking the p**s here. But of course, I could always be wrong.

Steve, hell what an adventure, if I can use that word !

            Regards

Sleep? No. Where I live gun fire is treated like lightning, only you hear the gun fire then start counting to see how long before the police sirens come !Ian M
