He is kidding right?
I don't care how rare it is but 1 1/2 grand for a model tank without R/C gear has got to be a joke!!
The disturbing things are:
A) He thinks he may get that price and
B) Someone might pay it.
I really don't know where the sense of value is going nowadays. -

Tiz the first of its kind, and led directly to all the Tamiya 1/16's. He will get the 1 1/2 grand. This is down to rareity, and they are about as rare as a tank gets.
quality comes into it aswell, also one of the first metal chasis RC tanks aimed at a mass market...unfortunately all that quality control led to the (Imai) going bust.
still i aint got the dosh to cough up for an incomplete Imai.
I think i will head to the shops and get me some lottery tickets.Comment

Very rare but some one has to want it real bad for that sort of dosh I reckon one could be scratchbuilt better using the tamiya as a base for a awfull lot lot lessComment

I reckon you could do a pretty nice job using brass sheet soldered together at that sort of scale.
This one may be rare but all I can see is a kit that is unfinished, unpainted, no R/C gear etc. If I was a serious collector I would want an unmade kit and if I wanted to make one I would be after the same.
I can't see anyone being happy with buying someone elses workmanship for that amount of money.
It'll be interesting to see what it goes for!

He thinks he will get a lot of money for it because it is rare,it has happened many times before on E-bay,but at the end of the day it requires someone that not only wants it badly enough,but has the cash reserve to pay the high price being asked.

I have only seen this completed at a show....you must trust me.....they are outstanding authentic scale.quality , metally...really small nuts,bolts, built, copyied from the real thing...things.............It seems only the boat people get that kind of authenticity these days....goddam you seen the blue sub build thread? the guys a maniac!!!!!!!...he be puttin' a nuclear warhead in it too!!!Comment
