Thanks Richard.I tried a few online translators, they made more of a billarks of it than I did! I know the sense of the phrases I'm translating but am trying to get an accurate translation. It's from a technical bulletin which doesn't make it any easier.
It pertains to the use of lower octane (B4) fuel with thw MW50 boost system in the DB 605 engine.
If you fancy a go here are the relevant passages. You'll have to click on the images to see all the text.
Mate, my German very limited considering i was in a relationship with a German girl for nearly 2 years!Know a couple of people who may be able to help at work providing i can get hold of them!can't make any promises but worth a tryrich
Mine too. I used to work in Germany quite frequently so the usual restaurant/menu/directions/train ticket/everyday stuff is fine but an accurate technical translation is more of a struggle.
Thanks for the offer any help is much appreciated.
Something to do with fuel flow to the engine and possibly being destroyed if something is not used, but my German is far from the best for the literal translation, sorry I cannot help any further with the translation.
The gist of it is that the engine can be run on B4 fuel when C3 is not available. There are some odd words and tenses in the third sentence and I'm not sure if,when using the lower grade (B4) fuel, the MW50 boost system is to be used or disconnected. If you get it wrong the engine will indeed destroy itself so it is important!
Thank you Dave, hopefully our education system still works! Seriously,I know it is technical lingo but if she can shed any light it will be much appreciated.
