    Lost my best friend Bruno.

I got woken at 1:45 this morning to see my best friend leave us for the last time, and it has broken our heart's, we had Bruno since he was eight weeks old, and this April he would have been 13 years old.
He was the most loyal friend anyone could wish for, he will be sadly missed but never forgotten, he will always be in our heart's, it feels as if a big hole has appeared, and ripped us in two.

He fell asleep, and at 1:45 am this morning he quickly left us, he'd fallen asleep in his favourite place on the sofa next to his best buddy(Sparky) we were woken by Sparky, and by the time we could do anything he was gone.

It was only last year that we lost our cat (Scratch) to cancer, and a year later the same thing takes our beloved Bruno.
If there is one thing in the world that I hate the most, it has to be cancer, it continually takes the people and family(members) pet's.
I really am going to miss the big fella, but I will never forget him, and I will miss having him here with us.
You think you would be able to cope, but you can't, it hurts so much, they are a part off you that you will never get over, I loved that big German shepherd so much, I cannot believe that he's gone.
I'm sorry for this long winded, what ever it is, but it's the only way that I can get it off my chest and express my sadness with the loss of my big fella.....so long my friend, you cross that rainbow bridge in the sky Bruno.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss Tommy. I know from experience that a loved pet is like one of our own children, someone with their own personality & who gives and receives love.

Bruno may be gone, but he lives on in your memories.

So sorry to hear about your loss, a pet is as much a member of the family as a child. My thoughts and wishes go out to you and the family Tommy.

I think it is so hard to lose a pet, especially if they have created something extra special in your lives. Nearly two years since it happened to me and I never forget him. Photographs and memories may hurt today but in time, they will help you smile as you think back to the great times you had.

Thanks guy's, and thank you all that have been kind enough to leave heart felt word's.
This has to be one of the most heart breaking days I have ever experienced in a very long time.
Bruno will always be with both myself and my wife, we have both realized that he is no longer in any pain or discomfort, and that the big man will always be in our memories and in our heart's, his memory will be with us always.
And that he will be looking down on us all, and we will see him again, at that big rainbow bridge in the sky.
Once again, thank you all for your kind words..

Just catching up on posts Tom, and very sorry to read of your loss.

If it's any help we are on our fifth big rescue dog. Each one that has past away was special. Our present big, stupid mastif is no exception.

With each dog we lost we swore never to get another, but after a few days of trying to fill the gap, we were off to the kennels and came back home with another mutt.

We have pictures of all the dogs on the wall and I always spare some time to say hello to each one as I pass.

We know we will be shattered when we loose Jodie, yet we equally know we will be off to the kennels like a shot......Just to have a look at what's there - again!

Perhaps you should do the same and replace 'The big fella'. I'm sure he would want you to. As I'm equally sure you will never forget all the great times you had with him.

                        Soppy? Sure, and why not!

                        Take care,
                        Ron
