    Modelling quality going down hill.

I have noticed in the past couple of years the quality of my finishes has been slowly diminishing.

My disability regarding hands, shakes etc is about the same, the old eyes are slightly worse despite glasses and magnifier but, the real issue is patience.

I just cannot seem to concentrate or be bothered, the outcome is a poor finish.

    Anybody else struggling?

Yeah but for me its the fact i cant find the time to do any modeling and when i do i tend to rush and lose patience in waiting for things to dry ect and it then effects the finish which gets anyoning and disheartened me more

ive had times like that. for me its when it all gets a bit 'production line', just going through the motions, churning kits out..........tend to stop, take a break, think of something new to try, new challenge

We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no ones been

Yes, that's me. Too many times I've looked at a part of my build and thought, that'll do, when actually, it won't do and wouldn't take long to correct.

I tend to do the exact same thing Colin. Then I decide to put it right further down the line and what should take two minutes takes an hour because I've painted or fastened something else to it

Age is creeping up on all of us Si. My 50th birthday today, so I'm aware of my deterioration even since joining this forum some 8 years ago.

If my shaky hands get any worse, I'll have a job as a manual paint mixer!

Glad I am not alone. When I was younger I churned out kits and wasn't bothered about look or quality. Then I got into it a bit more and learned more and settled down and started to create some good work, even if it is knackered and rusty . It was just as I was looking around the work shed and saw some builds and I noticed that the majority was from a couple of years onwards and the finish was poorer. Slight glue stains not sanded back, no filler in places-a 'that will do' sort of look, paintwork lacking quality even when weathering and rusting it was applied heavily in places.

At least I have noticed and can address the issues-hopefully.
