    Bad times ahead

    Hi guys and gals

( not exactly modelling but please read )

I didn't really know wher to post this but anyway here goes.
My wife Is a wonderful woman and I love her to bits, always have, we are best freind X the whole kit and caboodle.
We have been married almost 5yrs but together 7 ( I know 7 year itch and all). Although only a short time we feel that we have been together forever.
Last year was not the greatest of years for her ( lots of depression due to work pressure etc ) last Sept she had a fit and a breakdown and became even more ill and had to spend a couple of days in hospital. Then she was released back into my care. She was off sick for a long while and Xmas wasn't the best of festivities but she put on a brave face as she does ( funny how women can hide things so well )
Now I have to explain my wife is diabetic and has been for as long as I have known her but on one of her Drs appointments her blood sugar had gone through the roof but her diet had not changed. Back to hospital again. Her seizures are all bodily leg cramps / spasms where her legs go into seizure loss of feeling in her legs etc etc
Tests were done and more tests
Jan came and she had another fit/ which turned out to be a seizure and scared the crap out of me and again hospital we go. By this time we are looking for answers and have a funny idea what it is
More tests and CT scan MRI scans as done etc
Recently she's been for eye tests and a lumber puncture ( ouch )
Two weeks ago we were informed my wife has MS. ( multiple sclerosis )
A bit shocked was I but the signs were there. Now DVLA say she can't drive so I'm thr taxi now !!!! ( bad joke I know
Oh she's still fine and working etc but I'm thinking as she's 52 I think and want her to hang up her job and take early retirement. SWMBO will not rest though.
So what I hear you ask has this got to do with modelling and on the forum??
Well as I have just learnt this news I have to focus more time on other things now as you can understand but I am going no where I hope.
SWMBO even said to me the other day you may have to one day give up modeling to look after me!!!!
    Of course I replied......... Ok
If it came down to it of course I would.
Ali is a fighter and so am I it's a journey we have to take together but that's what married people do .... No friends for life do.
Bad times may be ahead but we will soldier on
In my spare time I'll try to get on the bench too.

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read.

    Regards

    Robert

So sorry to hear the news Robert, but you and your missus and family come first, must do. Models are there for if and when you get the time.

Take it easy mate, look after yourself.

Really sorry to hear about your wife Robert, but I have to agree with the rest of the guy's, your wife's health is priority, everything else takes a back seat.
I really hope that everything goes well for you all, sending you and your family all the best.

So sad Robert ,family first as the guys say but the modelling may come in handy in the future as a stress release, im going through serious health issues at the moment myself and without the hobby i think i would be in a worse place ,so good luck for the future

There's nothing I can say to make things better Robert but my best wishes go out to you and your wife. Like the rest have said you have to do what you have to do.
But I'm sure you'll find time to pop in from time to time.

                      Oh thanks for the support
My wife says I can still do my modelling as you have said it's a good release
I'm still hoping to get all my builds GB etc all finished.
She's fully supportive of my hobby but now she has no wheels either ( actually she said only fir the moment ) she says I may have my own wheelchair in time to come and offered me to airbrush it !!
Now if that's not looking at life positively what else is
We have a very supportive family and all will help in times to come.
                      Again thanks

                      Robert

Thats bad news. I know a little of what you have veen through and i hope your situation improves. You will need the modelling to keep you sane. It's a must but obviously not now a main priority.

                            All the best

Hang in there Robert, things always seem to level out and one settles into the groove of new circumstances, at least until the next crisisops:

Docs told me I had five years or so before I was wheelchair ridden ( muscular, nerve and disc degeneration and arthrosis of entire spine, deemed inoperable)
That was nearly 20 years ago and I still fell trees, process timber, hunt, etc... Believe it or not most back pain I incur is putting in long hours at the modelling bench

Positive attitude and plenty of love and support work wonders no qwack doc could prescribe, seems you've plenty of that
Will keep your Missus in our thoughts and prayers and may you always have the best of luck...........Jim
