    New tools and materials...

One of the thing I enjoy about modelling is trying out new tools, materials and techniques. In fact I may well spend nearly as much on these as I do models...

I thought I would post a few new things that I have obtained that others might find of interest.

First are these liquid chrome pens. These are brilliant for when you want a shiny metallic area or, perhaps, even just a chromed part. These are very controllable and work a treat. I did get all three sizes but I really think the fine one alone would be enough.

You can tone down the shine as I will do on the u/c leg oleo below.

next up are these liquid masking pens.

They work just the same as ordinary liquid mask but are very controllable and do not mess up your brushes. They are not a substitute for normal liquid mask but compliment it.

Ever trie painting that red, yellow, orange or blue surround on an aircraft instrument panel with a fine brush? Not easy but it might be a lot easier with these. Mostly the ultra fine tips but I do have a red fine tip as well.

What about decal solution? Sometime you get that stubborn decal that will not 'wrincle up' and conform easily so you end up using coat after coat...
I have not tried this yet but according to some review it will 'wrinkle up' anything!!

All of these are good additions to any armoury.....

      Hi Tony
I just Googled for them and found them on Amazon

      Likewise the mask pens.

Also I Googled the Daco decla setting solution and found it here.

Perhaps John might be able to stock it in future. I rather like the idea of the three strengths and may replace the others I have. I will say more about it once I have used it.

Helpful post, Barry thanks. I like the idea of a 'nuclear option' decal solution - though it looks as if it's in a jam jar!
