    Patches

here are pictures of the patches i have/have on order.

the idea is they will go with the models i will be making. One for the squadron, one for the wing (if pos) and if they have special markings...one for that. And if it is from a special event, one from that as well.

Although i have searched high and low for the 2003 NATO Tiger Meet patch (last picture) but i cant find it anywhere. I must have e-mailed close to 50 people about it as well!

The RNLAF Solo Display Team one was also very hard to find as it was only issued to pilots and crew (this is a pilots one as it has the gold writing instead of silver)

not so obvious but these ones are also F-16 ones, weather it be squadrons, wings...etc (notice a new one as well)

i think first of all i am going to concentrate on getting as many of the F-16/F-16 related ones as i can.

....unless i make a model of something else.

Sounds like a great theme there RJ,displaying the patches on the base of the model is not a bad idea ?

              Howdy RJ,

Ok, about that 2003 NTM CAMBRAI patch......I did a little research and................although I did not find it outright, I do have a few suggestions.

First and foremost, go right to the source, you can contact NATO HEADQUARTERS directly via this email link and ask that they direct you to someone who could help you locate one of these elusive patches. You can contact the NATO HQ via this email address: natodoc@hq.nato.int . If email is not the way you want to go, you can write to them at this "snail mail" address:

              NATO Headquarters

              Blvd Leopold III

              1110 Brussels, Belgium

Secondly, if that doesnt produce the desired response, you might contact a "participant" in the 2003 tigermeet, more specifically, the R.A.F.

While researching the R.A.F. site, I came across the "FAQ'S" Link (frequently asked questions) and then came across this link which states

"FAQs - Ex-servicemen : Links and contact details for finding information about veteran's groups, personnel records, replacing medals etc."

you can click on the underlined portion of the sentence up above to be taken to those links. If none of those links are of any use, try clicking on "contact" on the left side of the screen on that page. Doing so will take you to several "bits" of info, including a section on R.A.F. History, which also lists an address:

              Air Historical Branch

              Building 266

              RAF Bentley Priory

              Stanmore

              Middlesex

              HA7 3HH

              United Kingdom

You might wish to contact them and inquire about the patch or information on who you might contact to get one or obtain information to help you get one.

Now I could go on and probably dig abit deeper and possibly find out who embroiders the patches for NATO, so that you could contact them directly, but that would probably take me a few days to do so. However, if that ends up being the route you wish to go, let me know, I am not shy when it comes to contacting government entities for information lol.

But, if it was me looking for the patch or information on how to obtain one, I would first contact NATO HQ and go from there. Dont be bashful either, your tax dollars (as well as mine) are what pay for NATO.....they work for us, so dont be discouraged if you get passed around abit.........thats just the way the military and governments work lol.

I hope this is of some help, have a good day,

              Greg

if you need more help or more contact ideas, just hollar!

thanks alot greg, i will give NATO an e-mail and let you know how it goes.

There was one young girl who said she got the patch by e-mailing Cambrai itself but i cant find any contact info for it and she does not seem big on replying to e-mails lol

                  Howdy again RJ,

Ok, here is the snail mail address to contact the Belgian Military at Cambrai:

                  Aircomponent

                  Kwartier Koningin Elisabeth

                  Building 1

                  Eversestraat 1

                  1140 Evere

                  Fax : 02/701.3027

If you wish to email them, you might try the link I got that address from:

http://www.mil.be/aircomp/contact/index.asp you have to fill out the email on their site, you cant just email them, there is no email address listed.

Hope this helps, have a good evening,

                  Greg

fibre glass fusilage with foam wings

the f 16 is one of my favourite jets along with the tornado

Nice Idea with the Patches Richard,

Reminds me of back in the late 1980's after TopGun had been out and the craze then was flying jackets with the Patches on Like Tom Cruise's one in the film.

I still have 2 TopGun T shirts...One is the Original and the 2nd is the later version which also has writing on the back which says, "I FEEL THE NEED, THE NEED FOR SPEED - FLY NAVY"

Good luck in your quest for the Tiger Meet Patch.

                      Regards.........Mark.

Went to RAF Fairford IAT this year and had my multi pocketed fishermans waistcoat on with several patches. Taking photos of special ops Hercules from Mildenhall and one of the crewmen spotted the unit patch on my jacket. Got a 3/4 hour tour of the aircraft , inide and out including the chance to get in the cockpit. No piccys allowed but the crew were impressed by the knowledge and understanding of the job they did .The patch 67 SOS Night Owls.

Great Idea. I like the idea of hooking up the patches with the aircraft you model. That is an extra depth that is pretty cool. Let me know if there are any American patches you are having problems with. I have a brother in law who is in the US AirForce and is networked rather well. I collect unit patches and he seems to be able to get me what ever I am looking for.

im sure i will take you up on that!!! i am just bartering with a guy who is selling his entire collection all 9800 of them! and he has 68 F-16 ones so trying to come up with a deal!

basically if you can get any squadrons/wings/special badges that have anything todo with the F-16 that would be great!

                              thanks
