    Operation Chastise

    It was on the night of the 16th / 17th May, 1943 that 617 Sqn completed a most dangerous and amazing mission. At 21:28, the first of 19 Lancasters departed. 06:15 on the 17th saw the last aircraft return.
    Out of 19 aircraft, 11 returned (including 3 that returned earlier due to sustaining damage)

    An incredible mission flown by incredibly brave men.
