    Unexpectedly back from me 'ols....

    Hi all.
My wife and I did expect to be away for at least 5/6 weeks, but yesterday my eldest son managed to contacted us to let us know our Daughter in Law has been diagnosed with breast cancer.......

It has been caught early, so we are praying for a good conclusion. She has an in depth scan tomorrow and then they will operate based on the findings. All a bit in the air, but thankfully, things are pushing ahead at a rapid pace.

We were within hours of catching the Ferry to the Outer Hebrides when we got the news. We informed Caledonian McBrayne's ticket office of the situation, and to cancel all our sailings, and without any hesitation, they offered to refund all our money straight away. So top marks to them....

Then it was helter skelter back home to Chester from Ullapool - Day and a half with a bit of a kip en-route - Not bad for a clapped out camper van.....Not to mention the driver!

Anyway, all we can do now is support them both and pray for a happy conclusion.

    Cheers all,
    Ron

Thank you for all your kind messages. I appreciate every one of them. We had my son and his wife around for a Chinese Take Away tonight and they seem as well as can be expected under the circumstances - a bit subdued, but trying to be brave. Heaven knows what they are both thinking.........

                  Thanks again,
                  Ron

All I can do is mirror the replies you've already had Ron, a horrible thing for a family to go through. My thoughts are with you and yours.
