Steve, I always have a clean up after a session (and before if about to paint, dust!!). My workbench is in my rather large bedroom (yes I am divorced!) - after all in the bedroom women paint their faces, fill their gaps and 'sand' their cheeks so why can't I do it to plastic!

Just last night finished the Airfix "Golden Hind" (aka Pelican) 1/72, my first ever "proper" boat build and as no-one actually knows what it looked like i had a bit of "carte blanc" on the detailing ... i'm pleased with it.

Got a 1/35 Tamiya jeep to finish off for my M*A*S*H 4077 diorama.

Still got about 50 1/72 figures to finish painting for my 24" x 24" Boer War diorama base, there'll be about 140 figures in total when it's finished.

Got my eye on the Airfix(?) 1/96 "Cuty Sark" ... coz i enjoyed the last boat build so much ... so satisfying when all the riggins in place

I must admit though that the plans for the "hind" didn't have detailed rigging instructions so a trip to the old T'interweb had to be made for "tall ship" rigging pictures.

There's not too many on here that are interested in figures and boats but i'll take some piccies if asked

Back many, many years ago I remember building the Revell Golden Hind, it was a very satisfying build also in 1:72. How about a pic?

We all love a piccy Colin, even if it falls outside our particular interest. I for one enjoy seeing what others are up to. I might not understand a boat's rigging but I can still appreciate the model and the hard work that's gone into it!

            Cheers

On my chaotic bench at the mo is a 1/72 Fujimi Aichi b7 Ryusei 'grace' , a 1/72 Amodel Yak 28p (what a filler-fest!!) the second of the sweet 1/144 nakajima 'rufe's and the monstrously huge 1/72 esci tupolev tu 22m2 - the mighty backfire!! I know what you mean ian about not knowing which to start next, i always end up starting something totally different after being inspired by some magazine article or something. e.g. ive just been reading about the sultan of omans airforce and straightaway wanted to do a strikemaster in those colours!!! tony

                    Hi All,

Just getting to the end of the Junkers JU88. Painting at the moment. Been a bit of a slog. Learnt a lot from it.

Went to the Duxford airshow at the weekend (on the Sunday) to see the 75th anniversary of the spitfire.

Thought the weather was going to ruin the day but it didnt in the end and had a great time.

Took some great pics and vids of the spits flying.

                    Cheers

On a bookcase i have a half built, scratchbuild wood model of HMS Serapis which i do bits to once in a blue moon these days. Also in the middle of painting an Italeri A6E Intruder, an ongoing project of a Dapol BR Mogul loco, replacing all the moulded details, pipework and handrails with brass, etched or scratchbuilt details and have put together in about 10 minutes a PM Models Turkish Stars NF-5A which needs an awful lot of sanding and filler still. But it was ony £3.

I don't understand how you guys can do more than one kit at a time.

I'm currently doing a war on terror dio but that's all. I suppose I have 4 kits on the go at the moment, two vehicle kits and 2 figure kits but as they're all for the same thing I count them as one as I only do one of them at a time. Anyway, it's taken a real step back as there were issues with one of the vehicles - I just wasn't happy with the build. So a rush order from John (ordered late on the Wednesday night and arrived on the Friday morning - good work John) and I've started work on it again.

Next one I'm planning is the Revell 1/35 VW Samba bus...going to really "hippie" it up!
