    My missus is awesome

Last year the night we came back from our hols my missus broke her back and was in bed for a month in total agony, today she did a 5 km park run and came 160 out of 220 (considering it's her first go) I think it's incredible.
She's gone from bed ridden and unable to do anything for herself to being an athlete (well in my eyes anyway I couldn't do 1km)

    She's my hero.

Yep I'm so proud of her, she's 58 and came in in 32mins and 26 seconds and was third in her age group, she achieved this from running round the garden every morning, started out just a few mins a day and went up to nearly an hour. My daughter was her inspiration (She's done 2 marathons) she's a very grittsy (or maybe stubborn) lady and never let's anything hold her back, when I met her she was deaf, never let that bother her, but when I suggested trying a hearing aid I will never forget the look on her face when I said can you hear me and she could.
My Pam is a tougher than tough old bird and the kindest and most thoughtful person anyone could wish to meet.

Yep she's an inspiration to me, she never complanes when she first did her back she was in agony but never complained I could tell though used to break my heart knowing I could do nothing about it. But hey look at her now, she's miles fitter than me and my backs fine, knees though that's a whole other story.

Well done, Pam! Parkrun - excellent institution, especially with all the stats they provide. It soon becomes addictive. I can see your Saturday mornings being booked up for the foreseeable future!

                    Fantastic!!!

This from a guy who's got 1:st hand experience about how it is to break your back (in more than one place) and the struggle to try to get better...
3 years in a wheelchair, walking again after spending 5 years in bed looking for a surgeon who dared to attempt a repair, more surgeries to follow and I'll never work again - but still fighting for every remote chance of getting better!

Tell your wife that she's done a fantastic job - and you as well for supporting her during her recovery - and that it put a smile on my face to hear/see someone coming back from such an injury!
I know how it felt like learning to walk again after all those years...

Thanks Jens sorry to hear of your injuries I'm all to well aware how lucky Pam is, I mean she could have been paralysed, she still suffers but will not give in, I tell her daily to take it easy but I think she takes that as a challenge, all I know is she is an inspiration to me on never giving up. I know this is one in a thousand success story but it is a success story.

So you should be proud Ken you have a missus and a half there, not just for the determination Pam as shown to not let this beat her, but to put up with you also. So pleased for both of you.
