Hi am new to model making and i have come accross my first problem... i have a tamiya f60 kit and am using zero paints airbrush primer but the paint doesnt seem to be taking to the plastic very well in certain areas creating a cracking effect. im not sure where im going wrong and would much appriciate any input tips or hints or advice on what to do next. i was thinking maybe my pre-paint preperation wasnt good enough... wrong type of primer or putting too much paint on in one coat might have caused it but to be honest i havent really got a clue.. so any advice on where to go with this next would be brilliant.. cheers Rich

Welcome to the forum. I have a question of you, did you wash the part before you applied the primer? I ask because it looks like some mold release agent is still on there. Looks like a wet & dry job and start again Richard.

 Have fun, John

Hi Rich , I`ve got this kit half built myself , the zero primer is fine , did you wash the kit before you started , if not it could be a release agent bleeding through or on the plastic , you could try fine sanding it back the affected area and washing the part in warm soapy water then re-prime , but if that does not help Hiroboy do a zero primer sealer which should do the job,

Gotta say for someone new to modelling you`ve picked a hard kit to do mate , I always wash kits first then prime , always light coats never try to cover in one go as with any model making preperation is the key .

Welcome to the forum , anything your unsure off just ask.

 cheers
