The next model I am doing calls for 075 - 1kg to weigh it down, what is the best material to use?

1kg! That is a lot of weight. What model is it as the material to weigh it down often depends on the space you have to put it in.

Led pellets in small fabric bags should be the best option I can think of unless you can make led bits that can be glued in place?
But like Graham said 1 kg is an awful lot of weight! That's two pints!

Thanks for the replies, I'll get a bag. It's to weigh down the 1/32 ships catapult. It goes into the base which is about 12cm x 12cm x 4cm.
