    Thread resurrection.

I listen to music while I'm painting - always.

Currently got two faves: Sault and Gene Clark. Wildly different, I know. They're intermixed with Sandy Denny, Toumani Diabate and the Symmetric Orchestra, Chicago (the first two albums, before they went MoR), early Beverley Knight, Scott Walker, Trojan compilations - all sorts of stuff!

Music, and tea, are essential for achieving the Zen state required for painting miniatures!

I always use Spotify - after a while, analysing your taste, it generates a 'daily mix' which includes your favourites, and introduces you to new artists. It can be quite annoying - sometimes you think 'that's good' and have to get up and see who it was. I use the free version - it has adverts, so what? So did Radio Luxembourg when I was a kid!

I normally don't have music on when I work 'cos it's a distraction. I love music, all types and am more inclined to tunes and melodies than lyrics. Lately I've been paying attention to lyrics and discovering why some singers have become famous for their writing.

        Cheers,
        Richard

Spotify is my go to platform for music whilst building.

My range is so vast that it really depends on my mood. Although nothing RnB or pop.

I tend to stick to rock and metal though. So that could be anything from Jinjer, Slipknot, Linkin Park and Staind through to Dire Straits, Stereophonics (older stuff) and Limp Bizkit. There is so many bands in my saved list that naming them would take up far too much space. I love finding new bands and just recently i have been listening to a lot of Russian bands.

Having said that though i am a big fan of Runrig, Skald and Eivor.

Even Guest would approve of one of the songs.... Zywiotak - World of Tanks Studzianki Soundtrack

Search for AlanG on spotify to see it all lol

Me, I listen to pretty much anything from Mozart to Motörhead. I have a large vinyl and CD collection and a decent system to play them on.
Usual build and paint music is Planet Rock or Classic FM on the Alexa speaker though. Although CFM annoy me by playing parts of whole works (and the godawful Onedin line theme tune). On Saturday afternoons I might ask her to move to five live for the football.

Here at the Towers Bench I sometimes have JJ Cale, EC, AC/DC on CD. Most of the time nothing, just the sound of muttering and the odd Anglo-Saxon swear word.:smiling3:

                      Snap.

I've never got into streaming music. And having seen analyses which suggest it's bad for musicians and worse for musical diversity, I'm very glad I never did! I'm happy to continue buying CDs and the odd bit of vinyl.

Despite my loyalty I rate he best military bands as HM Royal Marines and the Light Infantry (In all their iterations!). Classic FM does it for me as well Bob!
