    Scale conversion please....

    Hi all,

I reckon I can get a quicker answer here than trawling through 'tinternet...

What is 80ft in 1/72 scale please? Can someone also post the formula for my future calculations too.

    Thanks,

    Ron

These are accurate to around 1%

for 1/72 divide the length in feet by "6" (example - 80ft divide by 6 is 13.3 inches)

for 1/48 divide the length in feet by "4" (example - 80ft divide by 4 is 20 inches)

for 1/35 divide the length in feet by "2.9" (example - 80ft divide by 2.9 is 27.58 inches)

for 1/32 divide the length in feet by "2.6" (example - 80ft divide by 2.6 is 30 inches)

for 1/24 divide the length in feet by "2" (example - 80ft divide by 2 is 40 inches)

To work any other scale out yourself.

"Length in feet" x 12 divided by "the scale" = "length in inches"

        i.e. 1/350 scale for 80ft

        80 x 12 = 960 divide by 350 = 2.7428 inches.

If you only have meters to go with then times the length by 39 to get a close approximate

        i.e. for 1/72 scale for 14 meters

        14 x 39 = 546 divide by 72 = 7.583 inches
