    1:48th scale B 29 Superfortress

    Howdy Guys,

Well, recently I have noticed that despite good intentions, actually getting work done on a model.....any model has become abit harder for me, even on the weekends.

I have so many models sitting around right now in various stages of completion or not even started, that my house is beginning to look like a small hobby shop.

I guess its the new Job, I leave for work at 2:30 am every morning for a 50 mile drive to work and then return home sometime after 4 pm.

Anyway...... Saturday I purchased a kit i had always wanted but was afraid to try, not because of its complexity, but due to its size. I purchased it, and I blame this partly on miss Charlotte...she inspired me with her C5 Galaxy build thread... I mean I cant be outdone by a girl lol.

Anyway, I bought a 1:48th scale B 29 Superfortress made by revell kit number 85-5711 and its wingspan is 35 inches (approx 3ft. or 1 yard). It is by far the largest model I have built so far with the exception of an aircraft carrier in my younger days as a teen.

A review of this kit can be seen here: http://modelingmadness.com/reviews/allies/us/kol29.htm I am looking forward to starting it and spent most of the day gathering required paints and other assorted materials for the beginning of construction. There is one major difference in the review shown above and my kit, the reviewer did not use the gunner blisters, but instead opted for a smooth body look, I plan on using the guns for a WWII aircraft.

I still have that fiber optic cable and this model is big enough to use it on, but I am still not sure if i will or not....like I said, I first have to start on the thing lol.

Below are photos of the kit reviewers from the above link...again, the following photos are not of my build:

    I also purchased a 1/48 scale V 1 buzz bomb and a 1/48 P 40 warhawk (flying tiger/Hells angels) on Saturday too.

Anyway, Just wanted to let ya'll know what else I had been spending my money on and not getting built yet lol.

    Have a good evening,

    Greg

RJ, I love that aluminum clad paint on the airliner above. Now I will have to check with the local hobby shop to see if they carry it.

          Have a good day,

          Greg
