Just asked for some prepaid envelopes to send off some important documents low and behold a week later two letters dropped on the floor form the same company each containing one envelope each.
Surely someone would have had the sense to put both in one letter.
No wonder the earth is in a mess

I've got a worse one...

Before I was retired I worked for one of the biggest electronics companies developing mobile phones. (to give some background)

I had to order ONE engineering sample from one of our factories, this one in China. What I received made me really worried...

I got one pallet. I mean a whole pallet!
In the pallet were 16 boxes which all contained 10 smaller boxes, you know the kind a mobile phone is packaged in for retail.
159 of these boxes were empty and one contained the engineering sample I ordered!?!

The people packing them were told how to pack mobile phones for shipping and since they hadn't been told otherwise that's how they shipped single engineering samples too... sigh.
Here we were trying to cut down on waste by not printing stuff and recycling everything in the office, just to be sent a whole pallet of empty boxes for just one measly phone?

People aren't using their brains any more, just following a process and never question anything. That's how you got two single envelopes delivered instead of two at the same time. Someone had to think and they didn't.
This planet hasn't got another 200 years unless something drastic happens very soon!

That was probably by choice though - for someone with oil money...
I bet those computers were gold coated too... hehe...

I've once sent a BYB 501 AXE cabinet (GSM phone switching hardware) on a flight, strapped down to an ordinary seat - on a regular SAS flight! (it was the first such cabinet we delivered if I remember correctly?)
It was partly a marketing thing with media taking pictures, but still... The rest of the seats were full off passengers so there were no emission breaking transport - and this was way before anyone had started talking about emissions.

My company's logistics software would produce a "pick list" for each order. Each warehouse item was associated with a carton size, so the picker had to collect a carton along with the item ordered then submit both to the packing department. This would automatically reduce the computer record of inventory of both the item(s) and the carton, and when that inventory reached a trigger point would order more. Using less cartons would result in overstock, and insufficient storage space!
