The snow is not too bad here in the East Midlands, but it's bitterly cold. I had to rescue a pied wagtail from my birdbath earlier, the water had frozen round his foot and he couldn't take off!

Here in Bromley it's the same. No work for me yesterday or today because of school closures - tomorrow looks the same. Woke up this morning to a frozen kitchen tap and a boiler gurgling and about to pack up. A decorator's heat gun on the outside tap cured the kitchen one. Google suggested the boiler condensate outlet pipe was also frozen. Heat gun again, and eventually all was well. I did some emergency lagging with bubblewrap and gaffer tape. All in all about 40mins out doing stuff that had to be done gloveless. I've never felt so cold and I've only just warmed up.
Still, I got some modelling done.

Just read on another forum that the Peterborough Scale Modelling Show has been cancelled. No great surprise there!

Weve had anout four inches where i live and its been causing mayhem due to the hilly nature of most of sheffield , cars getting stuck and being abandoned all over. Luckily for me my work let us have the last two days off ( i drive a haulage van all over UK ) but i havent been able to capitalise on this as the shed is bloody freezing!!! In fact i havent been in for weeks , my build rate always slows in the winter!

Same here Pete. However, I risked life and limb yesterday to do the shopping in L**L, and bought this from the same place. Being a scale model, I suppose it should be in 'Latest acquisitions'!

...so now I can sit down, have a brew and watch the birdies.

Life can be hell. By the way it's thawing like mad here.

That's just showing off Jim.:smiling3:. Don't work too hard clearing it away, and give yourself an injury.

Will have some fresh pics later, damn furnace won't run because snow has blocked the flue.
Will have to get on roof to clear it, hope I can survive that move. Not easy at my age.

Boys are on road clearing duties, wood piles have to be dug out, two plow trucks stuck, I told Mamma "this time next year I want to be sipping a pina colada in the Florida Keys"

Living in an open countryscape, we have snow that varies from a light dusting to 1.5 meters. The wind just blows it where it likes. Which for most of the time is up the front door!
On the plus side we live on a bus rute and by a farm so the road is kept pretty clear.
Its chucking it down again right now. so more snow to clear and more birds to feed.
