Howdy Guys,
"Warning Restricted Area....Use of Deadly Force Authorized". Well, I just returned from the Little Rock Airforce Base "Airpower Arkansas 2006 Airshow", And although that warning was prevailent around some of the aircraft, I was able to get really close to aircraft such as the F 22 Raptor, F 117 Stealth fighter, F 18 Hornet, F 15 Eagle, KC 135 tanker, B 52, C17 Globemaster, C 5 Galaxy (Those last two I even walked through), E3 AWACS, E3C Hawkeye, E2 Tracker, A 10 "Warthog/Thunderbolt II, and of course various models of the C 130 Hercules among others.........and yes RJ, I got a few close ups of the F16 Fighting Falcon. I took about 200 photos of the static aircraft and the performances.
I was even able to watch "SHOCKWAVE" a three jet engined Tractor trailer move at speeds of over 350 mph on the tarmac. They call it "SHOCKWAVE" due to the roar that it makes and because its owners last name is Shockley, It is best described as the "worlds largest Bic Lighter" and burns 120 gallons of fuel in the half mile reaching speeds of over 350 mph but able to attain the speed of sound.
It raced a piston powered biplane with a 200 mph head start and left it about a 1/4 mile behind when the race was over.
Anyway, I was really impressed with this years show. It will take me awhile to get all of my photos posted, but I will try to do a few here and there when I have the time.
Here are some "teasers" for you to look at:
Anyway, there are a few, like I said I went thru 87 photos on my digital until my batteries went down, then I bought 2 more "film type" disposable cameras, so just gimme time to resize all the photos to fit on the site and also to get the others developed and I will try to get them all on here.
have a good day,
Greg
