Why is life such a sh%$ for some people

Hi all to jump straight in. My missus broke her back 2 yrs ago, ok you all say she's lucky she can still walk (although she is always in pain) it's taken me 16 yrs to convince her to marry me (mainly due to how i looked after her after the incident) (11 augustis the lucky day)she is the kindest person you will ever meet and would give you her last penny or help in any way she can. Yesterday she was trying on a new t shirt she bought and the tag hit her in the eye, so what you may say but she was in agony I drove her to the Dr and it turns out she's scratched her cornea, the Dr gave her drops and they actually seem to make it worse. Why is it that a kind and caring person has to suffer for some stupid reason, I've broken bones (doing stupid things that benefited none) Pam only does kind things and always puts others before herself. We sit here telly off lights off as they hurt her eyes if they're on i get the sence she would scratch her eyes out they are so painful. I don't understand, I would willingly take the pain, and worse, what I don't understand is why Pam, she is kind has only ever been the same. I was not like that in my youth I hated bullies and went out of my way to deal with them, Pam has not a bad word for anyone and only sees the best in people why is it fate seems to only deal her the crap hand.

Did you take her to a GP Ken? If so, try your local A & E Department. Sounds as if she needs some more specialised care.

      Hi Ken,
Sorry to hear your wife’s having a tuff time of it. I know only too well how painful a scratched cornea is let alone how painful a broken back might be:sad:

I’ve come to the conclusion time and time again that life isn’t fair in any way, shape or form. You could be mother Teresa and still life would find a way to dump on you!
I’ll send you some good karma and wish you and your wife well.
      All the best
      Si

Took her to the gp (thing with Pam is she's stubborn and dosnt like to make a fuss) yes I suggested that as I had a similar experience where the Dr said no nothing in there and a week later at a and e oh yes there's something in there. Pam's only flaw stubborn and dosnt like a fuss.

You have my sympathy as well. The worst thing is that you know the world doesn’t care and have to just take it. The best thing is that at times like this you find out what really matters and who you can depend on..
Keep on fighting Ken, what goes around will come around and something good will come your way eventually....
                  Cheers
                  Tim

Trouble is Ken, a GP has an average of about 6 minutes for each patient, and it's too easy for them to just write a prescription rather than a referral to a specialist. The GP also doesn't have the specialist optical equipment for examining the eyes, unless you're very lucky.
Best of luck to her though, she sounds a brave lady.

                        Like wise Ken .
Sounds as she's had a lot to contend with.
Could I suggest you take her to your optitions, if they find anything they will refer you to the opthalmic clinic at your hospital, or go to A&E if it's still sore.
                        Wish her well .
                        John.

So sorry about your Missus Ken, the world is a cruel and heartless place and only the good and innocent seem to suffer the most.
My missus is an Angel God sent me some nearly 50 years ago, she is generous to a fault and as kind as a Saint.
When she had a mild heart attack some years back and had to get two arterial stents I was practically apoplectic at the thought of losing her.

She will heal eventually, sounds to me she couldn't hope for a better more loving caretaker than you.
Our prayers are with her...God Bless

                            Jim:hugging-face:

Really sorry to hear about Pam's trouble, Ken. I've had several corneal abrasions (don't ask!), and I can sympathise as they do hurt like hell. I can well remember spending my time lying in bed with my eyes shut tight and unable to bear light or movement. I think the drops she has will be antibiotic drops to make sure no infections get in there - but they won't do anything for the pain. Something like co-codamol may help a bit with that. The good news is that after two or three days the pain should get less. Best wishes to her for a quick recovery.
