Very sad to read about another local model shop closing.
We are lucky here, not only has our local shop has just moved into larger premises but the owner's son is taking over. About half is given over to selling lego, the big 'adult' targetted set mainly, so perhaps such diversifacation is the key to local shops continuing.
Afraid it's the climate we live in. We had one here , sold mostly di- cast and a few plastic kits. He's retired now. I think shops that have an online presence and shop are the only way for them to stay in business.
John .
Even an online shop does not always save them. 16eme Escadron here in Brussels closed at the end of last year.
The website was bought by someone but the physical shop is gone.
There used to be three around here but all have now gone, so i really have to use the internet, but when you get the quality of service that John gives it takes some beating.
I agree Steve, but sometimes I like to see the things I'm buying before reaching for the wallet. I do most of my buying at shows, but I've bought a few things from John.
