    Japan

I'm off to Japan next week

    \o/

I'm not planning to spend all week trawling hobby shops and dragging the entire contents of Tamiya's back catalogue home, but is there anything I should keep an eye out for - maybe something that's difficult to get hold of in the UK, or something that's fairly cheap in Japan but eye-wateringly expensive on import.

Either for myself, or as a nice little earner for Ebay?

LOL - My son and a couple of mates are flying there today for just over 2 weeks... He too has just started in this hobby about the same time I returned to it and I expect he will taking a good look at what's available there.

Have fun and look out for a tall lanky so and so!!!

Well, I'm back. Found a right little aladdin's cave of a model shop right on the main shopping drag in Kyoto. Picked up a couple of Tamiya kits, one of the aircraft from the Anime "Porco Rosso" (complete with little moustachioed pig pilot) because I've never seen it in the UK and a 1/48 Kittyhawk because I wanted it for my Big Modelling Project and it was much cheaper than the UK. I paid 2000 Yen (about 20 quid currently) for both kits together. I'd have brought more if I could have carried them - amazing place.
