Scratchbuilding - Materials for Corrugated hoses?

For a Sci-Fi Mecha model I'm after some lengths of corrugated hose, approx 4 or 5mm diameter, Idealy something akin to the flexible rubber hoses used in some lego sets...

Does anyone know of any alternative?

Maybe flexible conduit from an electrical wholesaler but I don't know if you can get anything that small.

What about bendy straws, the ones with the corrugated joint in the middle?

A method I have seen but not tried. Find some spring of sutable size and stretch it or coil your own perhaps with thin piano wire. Fit heat shrink tubing over it and,,,,,

got a PS, copper wire handled carefully as above gives a softer easier to fit curved part

        Thanks for those suggestions.

I'll have a look out for some small braided flex, it never occured to me to try to apply heat shrink over a spring. I'll see how that works!

I think i'll try to get hold of some small Brass "Snake Chain" as used for jewelery chains for the smaller cables too.
