    Display cases...

Am nearing completion of my Williams FW16 and am thinking about getting a display case - there's a Tamiya one for about £15 - basically a clear cuboid with a base that'll fit a 1/20 scale F1 car.

Is this about the best you can get for the money or is there an obvious (so obvious that I can't think of it!) alternative that might cost less??

Got approx £15 burning a hole in my PayPal account that's the trouble :-)

I've been having my display cases made by Dave Poole in Bristol, he makes them to the sizes you want.

    email him at dp.justincase@live.co.uk

or call him at 01179 092993

Thanks Geoff, any guide on price though? I don't want to waste anyone's time if they're likely to be pricier than the Tamiya one (which is sized to fit the model(s) I am building so should be about right anyway)...

I am sure that you can get quite a bit of sheet acrylic for £15- 20

If you can build a F1 car you can build a box lol.

The last one I had made by Dave was for the 1/24th scale VW Beetle, which cost me £5.00 plus a bit of postage

Interesting, that's definitely cheaper and happy to contribute a small concern rather than to "The Man" if possible obviously! Will drop him a line thanks.

Failing that trumpeter make a range of cases in different sizes. Emodels stock a range of them (by-the-way, that's .co.uk NOT .com - that's a completely different kind of "modelling" altogether, glad I didn't make that error at work).
