I was looking for an easier way to create 2d nets or developments from 3D cad models. I found this application and it's pretty impressive.
Now I can fold out parts of a model and create a 2d toolpath for engraving the parts. Should work great for machining small parts out of styrene sheet for making sub assemblies for scratchbuilt AFV's etc. It's also rather good for flattening out curved details which are normally a total pain.
I hasten to add the below image is just a very quick test to show what it does! 3D view in the lower left corner is the turret part and the folded out development is the result of the pepakura software.
