    Full size model car

    Hi Guys

I suppose this is a form of scale modelling,

I came across this video, which is quite impressive so thought I would share it :

Amazing stuff. Been enjoying the latest series of 'Lego Masters' on Channel 4.

A remarkable bit of modelling. Either the company has too much money to spend on a project like this, or the staff have too much time on their hands.

More likely the money came from the advertising budget.

          Jakko

You are probably right, but quite a cost. Their website says it too 13,458 man hours. Assuming average salaries of £25k ( probably on the low side for engineers) to salary cost would be £180k alone.

It must have been a whole lot of fun to be involved in.

That’s peanuts for a company building cars that cost 2.5 million dollars each.

Yes, but it was a lego project rather than Bugatti.

I just love the whole idea of this. i wonder who thought if the idea, and how they managed to convince managment to actually go along with it.

Ah, I hadn’t watched the video so kind of assumed it was Bugatti who’d done this. Still, don’t underestimate Lego’s profits, which I suspect are rather larger than Bugatti’s

They designed a 1:8 version for the shops which sells for £330rrp then they decided to make a full size version using the same technic parts

                    Thank you for posting Peter.
What an achievement for Lego, superb engineering from the team.
As for the cost, well Lego had a turn over in 2016
Of 4,310,616,002.40 Pound sterling so don't think it would bother them that much.

John - you and Jakko are right about the cost being small for Lego.

Simon - at that price my pockets aren't deep enough.
Here is a link to another video - this time explaining how them made it, the use of a couple of thousand Lego electric moters is quite amazing.
