    Christmas Blues

Hi, first off happy Christmas and a happy New year to everyone on the forum.
Sorry I haven't been around I've been in hospital since Friday afternoon, I'm being transferred to the Royal Brompton in Chelsea on Monday so it looks like I'll be missing Christmas again. Some of you know my condition but it's got worse.
A bit no one knew was that I had five growths in my lungs, now I have seven. One is now partially blocking my airways to my lung.
I will be seeing the lung surgeon on Monday some time to discuss surgery, the odds are not very favourable only 25% that I come out of the anaesthetic.
So and not to think about in the next few days.
    Pete.

        Hi.
Thought I better tell you all the hole story I was diagnosed with COPD 6yrs ago and stage 3 gold severe Emphyseme (it only goes up to stage 4) with a FEV1 which means I've only got between 30 & 50% of normal breathing capacity and yes I'm on oxygen 2-4h a day and 4 nebulisers plus 4 different puffers that's why I hand paint . There also the amount of drugs I have to take, 32 tablets a day ( which is 11,680 a year at that's when I'm well) which makes me shake a lot. About 2 years ago I had lung volume reduction surgery at the Royal Brompton London to remove damaged parts of my lungs, I'm up there once a month for scans because I've got five growths in what remains of my lungs, I also have other stuff going on which doesn't help matters some caused by the drugs I'm on. There is no cure for Emphyseme and is terminal which I've have more or less come to terms with ???, a for medication I'm maxed out already.
Its not if its going to happen its when.
        Pete.

Same as my wife. I rarely smoked more than 20 - 25 a day. Gave up 12 years ago.

                        Pete,

Sorry to hear your predicament, you obviously have faith in the surgeon and team to go ahead with this !

As "Scottie" says just tell 'em how many unfinished kits you've got,

Best wishes for a successful op and speedy return to muggelling.

                        Paul.
