    On the move

I thought you would like to know where your subscription payments go, most of it is on hosting, I've just signed up with a company called Liquid host, I've got the mid range VPS, they are an American company but I've paid the extra for one in the EU, hopefully it will still work after Brexit it costs $129 pm, it should improve things on the forum, and with it being a cloud VPS, if it needs more space, memory etc, it takes only a couple of minutes to do.

I wanted to be transparent, it's not a money making exercise for me, it's a way of keeping the forum going.

If everything goes according to plan, I will move the site over to the new server in the morning, so it could be inaccessible for most of the day.

Thanks John, I second Jim R and his comments. There was a forum that we had settled into and then we had the rug pulled from underneath us, not a word. You have behave like a true gentleman and I commend you for that and will support the forum the best way I can.
        Cheers, Mike.

John honestly what you just said was total gobble-d-gook to me but thanks for the update and thanks again for the many years of hard work you and the admins past and present have put in.

John I think we all appreciate the honesty with you explaining how it works. No doubt quite a lot of time spent sorting this out for the forum when you could be relaxing at home.

                Thank you.
                John .

I'm not happy with the new host, I've raised 2 support tickets and only had an automated response, The host I was with previously didn't want me to leave and have offered 2 months free hosting for the same spec server as we are on now, I'm worried that if something went wrong with the current new host, they would be in no rush to fix it, I've contacted the old host and asked them to set up the new server, they will also help with the migration, the downtime shouldn't be as long, I won't be doing anything until mid next week, but when I do the forum will be turned off while it's moved.

                            Hi John
Often a case of " better the devil you know than the devil you don't". I sure we can all cope with the site being down for a little while. I'm sure I'm not alone in appreciating the effort that goes into keeping this forum going.
                            Thanks
                            Jim
