    Dragon, still going??

Noticed nothing in the way of new kits from Dragon? They use to issue kits on a industrial scale?

The site only shows a few 'new' kits and they are mainly re-issues.

    Bob,
a lot of their stuff is shown on Facebook, but that is rather chaotic, and poorly organised. I must say that I haven't seen any really new 1/35 models, only rehashes of old stuff. There may be some new 1/72, though.
They certainly don't seem to be pumping it out like they used to!

From the Shizuoka model show. I watched this last night and there are releases from several manufacturers on display. Including a lovely looking Pz III with interior from Dragon!

The differences between Ausf. A, B and C/D aren’t that great, are they? Looking at the drawings in Spielberger’s Sturmgeschütz: Entwicklung und Fertigung der sPak, it looks like you can easily convert a B from an A by filling and rescribing the hatches for the gunner’s sight and adding the aerial trough and gun cleaning rods from an Ausf. C or D, plus maybe a few more minor changes.

Between A and B more than people think, front track return roller moved forward, wider tracks, wider wheels, new drive and idler sporckets. New gunner hatch. New tow ropes

B and C/D, major redesign, new front superstructure, new gunners hatch, new gunsight

I didn’t notice the moved return roller, but did spot something in the book about the Ausf. B drawing showing the later track. Anyway, all of this doesn’t sound at all difficult if you have both an Ausf. A and an Ausf. C kit: take the Ausf. C lower hull, wheels, track, etc. and put on the Ausf. A superstructure with the necessary modifications to the gunner’s hatch, plus the Ausf. C parts for the bits that changed.
