Hi Guys
Today, well today/tomorrow to be precise, is the anniversary of the action at La Boiselle in 1916 which resulted in de Wiart receiving the VC.
for those who do not know him, he was a truly remarkable man who fought in the 2nd Board war (losing an eye), then in WW1, being wounded many, many times in eluding losing an arm. He also served in WW2, even escaping from a POW camp.
if you want a good read this summer, you will not do much better than his autobiography: Happy Odyssey. I recommend it without hesitation.
The first bust I released was of de Wiart - here is a photo of it painted by Peter Day.
