Adding to the stash in preparation!

I'm probably being a bit premature here but last night I ordered some kits in anticipation of one of the GB's or SIG's for next year! I already have some kits for some of the others in my stash but for some reason one of the topics just really lit up my imagination and within about an hour I already had it planned out!

Even if it doesn't get chosen as one of them (or if it coincides with the other one that I really want to do) I'll do it anyway. If I can do it well I think it'll look awesome.

Good thing I'm also ordering Christmas presents online that way I can sneak them into the house without anyone being any the wiser!

O Drew that is sneaky like me. Post arrived with more paints. Yesterday her in doors "why do you need more paints". Answer the others keep wearing out.

Now let us in to the secret of what you have ordered.

I bought a couple of 1/72 planes for the proposed Pacific war build.

An Airfix Mitsubishi Zero (the one with the green Zero on the box art) and, after I found out that the UK had F4U Corsairs in the Pacific War I just had to order the Airfix one. I love the shape of the wings on the corsair and I'm planning on a 1/48 corsair at some point, probably my favourite looking allied WWII fighter.

I bought the Revell Corsair a few weeks ago Drew.

Not liked US aircraft until I read a book recently. Forgotten the name as I have now returned it to the library. About an English flyer who trained in the USA & then returned flying Corsairs on aircraft carriers. He also trained on Havards & Gruman types. I fell for the aircraft I like the radial engine & chubby nature of some of their planes. Fascinating to see the difference in design between British& USA craft. Seems that the USA are more Japanese or German in looks than British. Perhaps it is the use of radial engines which gives that character.

My only concern is that if she starts moaning about space, she will ask me what i am doing with the kit car in the garage lol

Do what I did - get a divorce

Then replace her dressing table with a workbench and put your stash in her wardrobe.

Next up - find a girlfriend who encourages the hobby (she thinks it keeps me out of trouble LOL.... let her think that...)

My god Allyne, that's not a stash, that's a small shop!!

I don't think there's any danger of that happening. However, as the stash goes down, the Trumpeter display cases go up!

I only have a few kits that I really want to buy but I'm sure this will change. For example, I would never have considered doing this diorama if it hadn't been mentioned in the GB/SIG thread.

That's one of the things I like about this group, that build was mentioned and I didn't even give it a second thought until voting, that was when the idea came to me.

I'm not going to be out of my comfort zone though as I don't have one at the moment. I'm not stuck to a particular war or type of kit. If I come up with a good plan I'll go for it regardless of kit type (not too into ships though, a bit big - although - never say never).
