Ever since I saw my first picture of a BF 110 in a World War II book I had as a kid I have always had a thing for the War's big twin-engined fighters.
The Beaufighter is no exception. It and the 110 may not be as 'pretty' as some of the other big twin-engined birds but there is something about them I really do love. I'm feeling rather jealous at the moment!

So not particularly exciting per se but useful nonetheless. Saw these on Barry's Gladiator build and though genius - somehow these had completely passed me by. Managed to pick these up for £2 a pair, whereas most 'multipacks' seemed to start at c. £1.50 and up - although no doubt cheaper ones were out there hidden away.

Two days ago, visiting my parents in the town where I was born (finally the fab 4 are of some avail to me too... :smiling4
I had the opportunity to visit the Amati factory shop.
Now my old Badger has new needle and head, the "F" ones I was looking for. The tweezers... I couldn't resist.
While there, I had the opportunity to see, from a distance, the prototype of their new 1/200 wooden Bismarck - 127 cm (50 in.) of sheer beauty - ready for some pics...
she's awesome at the point I felt sorry for not being a "wood" modeller (sorry, no pics, but there are plenty on their site).
Finally, my pater dug up from his cellar a piece of history... a tin of Humbrol thinner I bought in '79 or '80 and still half full (I was a very "conservative" consumer at that time). He kept it, along with many of my old models, for more than 40 years...:crying:
