    Hi Emma
hope you get something sorted out. Your father may have to adjust his expectations, but there is no reason why he should give up something he enjoys. Is he getting medical assistance? If so, the specialist or physio may have contacts as well.
    cheers
    Tim

Yes he's under several specialists at the moment. One has suggested joining a local model group so I've reached out to them

I went with one of these as thought he could start small and if he can manage with that ok, we can go for one of the 'helping hands' after that. You can clamp this to a table and the 4 middle pins are moveable so good for odd-shaped models etc.

I also went with the blu-tac idea so got him a big pack of that. Thought it would be good for holding models or the tools while he's gluing or assembling something on the clamp.

Thank you all for the help and advice... I really appreciate it!

Tell him not to lose hope either Emma, I know strokes are very individual, but my Mum had a major stroke, with full paralysis down her dominant right hand side. It took time, but she re-learned to walk, talk write, drive, use cutlery etc etc and is now back to her old self and doing pretty much everything she did before. Hopefully all the ideas above will only need to be a temporary solution! X

                        Hope all goes well .

                          Hi Emma
looking forward to hearing from your Dad. It’s a good friendly crowd on here, and if he gets stuck with a build there’s enough creativity on here to help him get over the problem...good call on the vice as well, but I bet he uses the blue tac more often
