SWMBO has just retired and the amount of time I spend modelling is becoming an issue. She just can't seem to appreciate the other place you go to when modelling - that trance-like state where the hours fly by and you end up with something that has cost you some effort and that only you're interested in. but which nevertheless feels worthwhile and satisfying. Something will have to give......

I don't think anyone outside the hobby gets modelling. I'm off to the gym for an hour...fine. Away rugby game, I'll be out all day...fine. Oh I planned to spend a couple of hours modelling that evening....funny looks.

Peter, I couldn't have summarised better why I enjoy the hobby better. And my wife's reaction to it sometimes. although to her credit she does encourage me to have a modelling session in the evening or at the weekends if we're not busy.

SWMBO retired 4 years ago, so if I am even thinking about doing something that is not on her approved list, the look is more than just funny!
Yes, something will definitely have to give Peter!
Commiserations to you Peter, you know you will loose, better to get it over with and re structure now!

                Hi Chris
I am allowed to go to work, but having been off since 011019 with my knee has upset the natural "balance"
My Knee taking its time to settle doesn't help either, but we will work it out, eventually LOL
The Corona virus worries are keeping us both in more than usual too, which doesn't help
There is always the Sky Planner, NetFlix and You Tube LOL

Chris, my wife is/was a doctor - consultant psychiatrist. She was burned out and ready to throw in the towel and entered retirement with lots of plans that included me. She tends to over-analyse things and feels I resent her being around a bit. I told her today that I was at her beck and call, no modelling, and she accused me of being 'passive-aggressive'. You can't win!

Heh … I basically have two hobbies: modelbuilding and roleplaying games. If you think people don’t understand the former, try explaining why you would spend time doing the latter.
