a strange idea for a bit of fun.

you probably all gonna think i am mad now but i was walking round a car boot sale this morning and saw lots of old battered kids toys around, i was particularly struck by a toy plane i saw which is a toy eurofighter about 15" long,, i though to myself , i would love a model that big but cannot afford it,then i saw some star wars toys which were very big, then in asda i saw a hm forces jet which looked at a quick glance like a huge harrier...my idea is,maybe as bit of a gb type thing, take a kids toy and use our modelling techniques to make it look good. how many of us have kids with plastic tanks, cars ,jeeps planes and spaceships lying around that could be made into something really cool. any interest, i bought the eurofighter for 50p. would of got the star wars at-at which was about 18" high but the cheeky beggar wanted a fiver for it.....

I had a large flat bed tank thing, which looked horrific, I started to paint using Games Workshop paints, but I didn't really have time for it then, I feel as if I should get it back out of the loft and have another shot at it.

I agree with Ian ...... lets rebel and have an unofficial GB/SIG build...

Oooohh just looked in a thesaurus and an altenative term for "rebelious" is "Papa695" ....now who'd have thought?

In all seriousness this could be run along the lines of the "pimp my model" type build running at the mo..... we'll have to see what Ian M (sir / god / his majesty etc etc) thinks eh?

Hello mates!!! You can possess me, I like much the idea!!

But it's not necessary to do a revolt either!!! Probably a simple post for all those that let's want to do it ... " new toys " o "old toys".(like you see...)

I like much the idea Andrew, great!!!

            Regards

So it looks like I have a revolt on my hands!!!

It sounds like a fun idea Andrew. Open a thread, and all that want to join in the rebel build can join in on that one.

It sure sounds as if it could be fun.

Andrew, you are now the unofficial mod for that one, so any rattle throwing in the thread will be your job to sort out and get the kids playing nice together.

I will as usual be at hand if you need help.

              Have fun with it.

Knock yourself out on this one. I will be watching from the sidelines. I aint using kit money on toys and not having any kids to steal them from.......

Having said that, If I find some thing (the father in law is a boot sale holder) I might just 'av a go.

Very interesting idea andrew. This makes me think back to when my son was a nipper 20 years ago, he had a friction powered toy plane which was a fairly accurate rendition of an Aero L29 Akrobat ,(the single seat aerobatic version of the L29 Delfin) in about 1/32 scale and bright yellow plastic. Thinking about it now , it could have been made into a reasonable replica , so it would have been perfect for this thread!! Ill have to keep a lookout for something else! cheers tony
