    Lockdown fun and games?

    Hi guys,

It's been a long while since I was last on the forum. Even longer since I was able to do any kit building. Work was mad, but that's a hell of a lot quieter now... We built a shed out in the back garden on a concrete slab that was already there when we moved in. I think it was for an old gazebo or sun swing thing? Anyhow, we insulated it, lined it, painted it, installed a nice floating floor, and it's snug and quiet, so what better place to relocate my modelling hobby to?

Like you lot in the UK, we've been in Covid-19 lock down for a while now. I'm still working, but at a much-reduced schedule. And the positive of all that, is this means model time. Luckily I have enough kits to last me about 50 years of lock down.

I'm building something quite different from the usual, an Artesania Latina San Francisco Cable Car. I got it at a reduced price in a fire auction about a year ago. Will put up a build thread when I can. Is a cable car a railway subject, or a miscellaneous build? I'm leaning towards a railway subject?

Anyway, I'm looking forward to catching up with you all again, I think I might be frequenting the forum a lot more over the next few months...

In the meantime, keep safe, warm, and happy modelling everyone.

    Cheers, Joe

Hi Joe, I can answer your question about Cable Cars, having ridden enough of them to last me a lifetime. It is a Railway subject due to the fact that it runs on a rail system just as trains do. The only difference being the way it propels itself down the tracks. HTH:thumb2: By the way, I will be looking forward to your build thread on this when you get round to posting it. Good to hear from you, Rick H.

Thanks Rick, I'll start one under the rail section soon.
