Well my wife let me use the tiny corner of our dining room. I guess you might say I’m kind tidy but that’s in question. I like it here it’s quite and this is my view of my Hay field and wood lines. In the spring deer come out and feed in the field when the grass starts getting green it’s very relaxing to watch and work on Models.

Thanks for looking in mate, glad you had a laugh. Thought it would be fun to do Steve, esp as we have some very tidy people on here like members of the Tidy bench Club.If any thing is likely to get modellers talking it's either the state of their bench, followed closely by paint colours, camo, ab and compressors. Oh the list just goes on and on :smiling3::smiling3::smiling3::smiling3:. :thumb2:

I've been busy...and the state of my bench shows it...
Mind you this is after I had removed all the paint jars...
And in a split of a lightning bolt I have got it back to shape. No doubt this will either slow down my work progress or get me going. It's true that some people thrive on a messy worktable...I was okay till I needed to paint and couldn't find room to place the kit. Also I needed a clean space to cut the stencils for the Oxfords hull codes and number...see that piece of printed A4, the top left four digits is the correct scale...yikes.
If I run into a rut I'll just flip back a couple of pages and re-read the funny stuff on this thread.
Cheers,

So this is my workbench aka kitchen table in the 'tidy' state to allow my wife to WFH. The table is about 20 years old and is one of those fold down ones where you can slide the chairs in the middle.....
During full lockdown I would sit where my wife now does and Junior would sit to my left. I now work up in his room as he's back at school.

Some of us can't work in a mess and others can't work if they have to stay tidy.
When we moved into this house it needed a lot of work doing. We employed a plumber and an electrician. The plumber was neat and organised. All his tools were kept together and he cleared up as he went along. The electrician was the total opposite. He put things down and then couldn't remember where he put them. He cleared up at the end of the day. Now the odd thing was they were both lovely guys, they couldn't have been more obliging and their workmanship was faultless. They were with us for a full week and they both despaired of each others working methods.
Bit like modelling really - tidy or untidy benches have zero influence on the models produced.

I’m one of the ‘put it back when finished with’ people, so the only things laying around are model parts. Everything gets tidied away at the end of a session.
The only exception is mid task when I’ll leave the part and the tool in situ to remind me what I was doing when I get back to it.
It’s a habit I learned working in a drawing office most of my career and it extends to every activity I do, be it cooking, DIY, housework...
SWMBO however leaves almost everything half done and open / lid off.
A testament to tolerance!Comment
