The regular newsletter from HSE has some guidance on working in hot temperatures. Link here: https://www.hse.gov.uk/temperature/i...gest-11-aug-20

Well, it has hit 35C here, it is sticky and uncomfortable - but there is a forecast of thunderstorms coming in a few hours - I just hope they don't fizzle out before they reach here............
Benchtime? forget it! - I could get up around 5am, when it's cooler, but that's the best time to sleep!

32 degrees here in south Birmingham, according to my not entirely reliable cheapo thermometer.

Whatever it is, it's far too hot to be making a model, though I have to confess that I prefer the heat to the cold; maybe something to do with spending my early years in Africa

As I typed the above I think I heard thunder. Either that or something shed a load of something on the road across the river! A bit of a thunderstorm would be a relief, you can have too much of a good thing.

The warm weather seems to have ignited an interest in glasses of ice cold cider, so not all bad either.Comment

It clouded over today, but no rain or thunder and temperature still in the 30s and humid as hell. I tried painting, but as the morning wore on the paint literally stopped working - apart from drying too quickly it curdled on the surface of the resin and went lumpy as it caught the dry bits. Really frustrating.Comment

Still 31 degrees here today, six days in a row of 31+ now. Theyāre also forecasting this for tomorrow, but cooler (mid- to low-20s) after that, which will be a big relief for a lot of people here, I suppose Comment

 Evening fellow sweaters.
Sorted out some helmets that would fit Hornet heads with out any work .
Glued one torso on to legs and gave up.
Even with with a through breeze in the cave it was unbearable.
Hope fully we have rain forecast for Friday .

We had sudden high winds earlier and the sky went black with sounds of thunder. Other than the cooling of the wind the rain never come to anything. I may wash the car tommorrow, that usually triggers the rain.Comment

Same here Peter, great clap of thunder followed by rain. Some was really heavy, and the feeling of clean air is great.Comment

Set up two sets of three sticks in the ground, about 22 yards apart, that usually does the trick Comment
