What kind of hinges are these? Sorted.

    Hi guys.

Like the title says I'm looking for some hinges like this:

I've seen them described as pivot pin hinges but had no luck finding any except these which are way too big for what I want. I'm after some about 15-20mm long and about 2mm diameter.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the info Gary. Like you, the smallest I could find were about 5mm diameter. I had a thunk about it and I've got hold of some small electrical wire connectors with a ring on the end. I reckon I can make a rivet of some sort to join two of them together to create a hinge. I'll let you know how I get on, but thanks for looking for me.

Do they have to be the round type? RC guys use flat hinges they glue into slots.

They also use these at 2.5mm which is the smallest I can find.

From the given sizes these are 2.5mm wide (I assume this is basically the the length of the pivot) and the width of the hinge piece is 10mm. I'm not concerned about the length as I could always cut them to fit, but my maximum width is only 6mm. I will have a mooch around and see if I can find any smaller ones though. Thanks Karl.

My sister rang me a few minutes after I read your post Pete with exactly the same suggestion. It's a definite possibility so I'm going to have a look see what I can find. Thanks.

When you look through the pictures you see some at a different angle, don't know where the 10mm comes from but it certainly doesn't look 10mm.....Click image for larger version

If you look at the ebay sales page Karl, you'll see where they ask you for the size you want. The dimensions are in there.

I seen that, but the picture shows both angles and it's clearly not 10mm if the hafts are 2.5mm, and it would defeat the point of these hinges.

I see your point Karl. I only read the size description but you're right, they don't look 10mm wide. I'll get in touch and see if I can find the actual size.
