Pam is ok thanks, took her a couple of days to get behind the wheel again, I really loved the old car and I think they are too quick to write them off these days. Apparently there was a lot of damage behind what you can see, for instance you couldn't open the rear door.

Sounds like the chassis was knocked off square, some places will pull a chassis back into shape and sell the car on, but insurance will write them off straight away if the doors cant open/close or if there is any "rippling" in the roof panel. Though they may still decide it's "damaged repairable" and put it up for sale as such recouping some of their costs.Comment

We're starting to get some of those new shape Fiestas through at work, nice bits of kit with plenty of toys.
Glad to hear that your wife is okay, and got back in the saddle pretty quickly, it's important.
My wife had a major shunt a few years back, partially underneath a lorry then spun out sideways across the M1. The roof crushed the passenger seat to the floor but somehow she got out uninjured. The Paramedics even ran past her when they arrived on scene as they couldn't believe anyone could have gotten out of the car alive, let alone be walking around taking details from witnesses! :smiling5:
We got her straight into a hire car after she'd been released from hospital that afternoon. I had to ride shotgun for a few days as she was still a bit shaky, but we felt it was essential to get her back driving as soon as possible.Comment

I and pam think she was on the phone at the time. Her car was undriveable (front end damage no steering) my wife rang her phone to check if it was a bogus number and couldn't hear it when pam asked her where her phone was she said she didn't have it with her, yet 15 mins later her insurance company was on the phone to pam telling her their client had admitted liability and they would be dealing with it.Comment

Lovely car. It’s always nice to have something new unless like me it’s a new tyre because a nail went through the side wall of my perfectly good tyre costing me lots of money I could of spent better on several nice meals out.Comment
