They had to, Lee.
What is the "german trafic signs" kit for if there's no Czech T34/85 with composite turret and built in plant n. 112 riding on those well signaled roads? How is it supposed to reach Berlin in time? :tongue-out3:
And the cover art is no less amazing! Please, note the "Rauchen Verboten" on top of the blazing and smoking tunnel! :upside:
I guess, but here I may be wrong as well, that JR has something to do with that... :surprised:.
Andrea.

Also, I notice the Zvezda kit has the rearview mirror for the driver, that was added fairly late in Sherman production, as well as the lifting eyes on edges of the glacis plate. Combined with the VVSS suspension, this would make it a pretty rare Sherman variant, as far as I can tell.
But it’s pretty easily explained by MiniArt being from Ukraine, where the Soviet-vs.-German part of the war is rather better-remembered than the Western Allies-vs.-Germany/Italy/Japan/etc. part.

Interesting. Too bad I already have the Meng M4A3 (76) VVSS lying around, else I would probably buy this one to add that type of Sherman to my collection.

The Soviet Union was one of the Allies :smiling3: But it’s pretty easily explained by MiniArt being from Ukraine, where the Soviet-vs.-German part of the war is rather better-remembered than the Western Allies-vs.-Germany/Italy/Japan/etc. part.
I understand that Miniart are from the Ukraine but find it a bit monotonous they mainly stick with that theatre of operations, just my thoughts.

Though I grant you that it’s not the image that would immediately come to my mind either when thinking of the British Berlin Infantry Brigade.
But … look what came up when I searched for that:

I know exactly what you mean :smiling3:
Agreed, their kits are rather good but it would be nice if they diversified a bit more.
It was, but it can and does snow in Berlin :smiling3: Though I grant you that it’s not the image that would immediately come to my mind either when thinking of the British Berlin Infantry Brigade.

Love the shortened greatcoat on the pointing squaddie at right - I had one of those (courtesy of a 13/18th Hussar) until the QM spotted it and commandeered it!

Takom made the same Mk10 version of the Chieftain a few years ago, I have that one sitting in the stash, makes you wonder what they are thinking.
The Berlin Brigade camo was an urban camouflage, someone realised that the standard green/black wasn't much good in a city.Comment

If you look at the left of the top picture, you'll see an Army officer with a clipboard, a soldier with helmet & braid. A young man with his back to us, suitcase at feet. The location is 'CAMP xxxxx'- the rest obscured by the bus, but palm trees & bus destination 'San Francisco' suggests California. I would say this is how a lot of recruits to the US Army arrived at boot camp! Another bus waits behind.
Yes - I've been reading Sherlock Holmes again!

Lee, probably they have direct access to the real things or the original plans, considering that Ukraine, during USSR, hosted several heavy automotive plants and, furthermore, they may have active contacts with archives and museums in former Warsaw Pact countries. Anyway, they have several allied/german subject kits in their catalogue, some of them really peculiar.Comment

That would go straight to the top of my 'buy' list if it wasn't made by Roden. As it is, I'll have to wait for a couple of build reviews before I shell out my hard-earned pennies.
PS Yes. I know the end result is more down to the skills of the modeller than the quality of the kit, but my skills are limited - as is my budget.Comment
