    Decals - after care?

    Hello

Can I please soumd you out regarding decals? Having just finished applying a whole host of decals to my Sopwith Pup, using Revell Decal Softener, it crossed my mind, as it always does, as to whether or not I should be applying a coat of anything on top of the finished model. I have already applied flat varnish to the whole assembly before applying the decals but, of course, the decals are vulnerable.

Any advice is, as always, appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Aidan

After applying decals i always seal them in with a coat of 'varnish' which in my case is Klear

Hi aidan , most people usually give the model a coat of gloss before applying decals (the smooth surface helps avoid the silvering effect caused by tiny bubbles getting trapped in the rough surface of a matt paint finish) , then when the decals are fully dry a final coat of matt, or whatever finish is required , seals the decals in. Are you going to get us a few pics of the pup? cheers tony
