    SWMBOs and HWMBOs

So, out of no other reason than pure curiosity, what option would you say best describes your Significant Others' general attitude towards your hobby?

My wife Gill is all for me modelling (a better option than revisiting motor bikes which was a passion of mine before we had children) and in fact my children(27,22,20) all actively encouraged me to restart after 35 years by buying me a Airfix kit last Fathers Day.

Hi Matt, it's not just SWMBO but everyone in my family has the same attitude to my modelling. They all see it as a waste of time and money, but at least it keeps me off the streets and out of trouble!

Like Vaughan, I used to have a much worse hobby - drinking! Bless 'em all though - if I decided to go back to that, I reckon they'd all be queing up at the local Modelzone to find summat to keep me busy! :lol

Voted resigned tolerance , I could show my wife a model and she would say thats nice can you put the bins out what do you want for dinner tonight all in one sentence , saying that my boys are a little bit more impressed - my 9yr old will say thats well cool Dad then go back to the playstation , my 3yr old says cool can I play with it Daddy

        so thats my vote

well, I'm really lucky in that he likes modelling too - or he's lucky... we take it in turns to get our model fix, and often have little dogfights with aircraft we're building...

did I really say that out loud? :guilty:

I voted resigned intolerance, my missus just isnt that bothered either way, but i reckon she'd rather me be in the shed now and again than down the pub. She did take a bit more notice when i sold a few built ones on e-bay and bought her some perfume with the profits!!!! tony

We are lucky to have similar interests, modelling, photography, bikes. We often have discussions as to whether either of us will ever grow up

I have voted for the courage that they give me, in this case my parents. I don't live with them, it's difficult to explain but, they are two houses separated with a "study house" shared that joins them... I believe that my interest comes from my mother, that she is charmed with the annuities, even it does very little towards Patchwork. So the first thing that she does on having entered the workshop is to observe my advances. When we meet the first thing that she does is to say me that she likes so much and encourages me to continue!! I am lucky when it's winter, we are all three with " our labors " taking a cup of tea, yes ... we drink tes!!! Modal to girlfriends they all believe that it is a loss of time and a thing for children....
