Received this email this morning from Simon's sisters

    Hi Jim

Thanks again for the recommendation. Models for Heroes collected the stash yesterday- entirely filled a transit van!

    Hope you’re keeping well

    Sal and Jo

Although I am sure we all still miss our friend the fact that his stash has gone to such a worthy charity means that some good has been done. I knew Simon's stash was large. I think on the old forum there was a thread to post photos of peoples stashes and his looked like a well stocked model shop!! A transit van is not small!!! :rolling:

    Jim

That’s a good place for it to go. I’m sure Simon would have approved. Got to smile though, it’s an enormous stash and I wonder how he thought it would all get built, especially as Simon only ever used a kit as a vague starting point for his finescale building style..

Great news...at least they will enjoy building the kits whole. They will be bewildered if told that Simon only needed less than half of the box contents to make a kit. :smiling2:

            Cheers,
            Richard

Thanks Jim for the update and I remember that thread. I miss him I’ve dedicated a tree on my Hobby farm last fall in his memory It’s a young sapling that stood out to me after his death. I figured I would wait a little bit before I would make a thread about it. I will probably post it soon.

To be honest, that goes for a lot of us. I don’t consider myself to have a disproportionally large stash, but if I were to not buy another kit until I’d built them all, then at my current rate I’d probably not spend money on a kit until we’re a good way into the next decade, if not the one after. But anyway, it does sound like Simon’s kits have gone to a good home from where others (hopefully) will build them
