    electric motor specs

    Hi all

I found an new old electric motor in my loft, but am unsure what the writing on the side means, in terms of specification.

    Parma Stock Cyclone 2

    27 turns

    .62mm single

It looks quite a fancy motor, but I can find nothing on the web about it, as its got to be over ten years old, but never got used.

Any info on what the specs mean would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Don,

Parma were indeed a very popular motor some years ago, I am surprised to see no websites on these now, there should be some links somewhere....try a search on "Parma rc" that should get some results for you.

As for the specs, 27 turns means 27 wraps of the wiring on what is evidently a single coil motor of 62mm size. Sounds like a reasonably powered motor to me and well worth trying out.

    Regards....Mark

      Don,

It is a standard 540 type motor, though it may have external brushes, i cannot remember the exact details of these motors but they were used extensively in the electric tenth scale buggies that were popular some time ago.
